چکیده
Let Φ(x, y) ∈ C[x, y] be a symmetric polynomial of partial degree d. The graph G(Φ) is defined by taking C as set of vertices and the points of V(Φ(x, y)) as edges. We study the following problem: given a finite, connected, d-regular graph H , find the polynomials Φ(x, y) such that G(Φ) has some connected component isomorphic toH and, in this case, if G(Φ) has (almost) all components isomorphic to H . The problem is solved by associating to H a characteristic ideal which offers a new perspective to the conjecture formulated in a previous paper, and allows to reduce its scope. In the second part, we determine the characteristic ideal for cycles of lengths ≤ 5 and for complete graphs of order ≤ 6. This results provide new evidence for the conjecture.

Let Φ(x, y) be a bivariate polynomial with complex coefficients. The zeroes of Φ(x, y) are given a combinatorial structure by considering them as arcs of a directed graph G(Φ). This paper studies some relationship between the polynomial Φ(x, y) and the structure of G(Φ).
متن کاملRelationship between Coefficients of Characteristic Polynomial and Matching Polynomial of Regular Graphs and its Applications
ABSTRACT. Suppose G is a graph, A(G) its adjacency matrix and f(G, x)=x^n+a_(n-1)x^(n-1)+... is the characteristic polynomial of G. The matching polynomial of G is defined as M(G, x) = x^n-m(G,1)x^(n-2) + ... where m(G,k) is the number of k-matchings in G. In this paper, we determine the relationship between 2k-th coefficient of characteristic polynomial, a_(2k), and k-th coefficient of matchin...
متن کاملWhen does the complement of the annihilating-ideal graph of a commutative ring admit a cut vertex?
The rings considered in this article are commutative with identity which admit at least two nonzero annihilating ideals. Let $R$ be a ring. Let $mathbb{A}(R)$ denote the set of all annihilating ideals of $R$ and let $mathbb{A}(R)^{*} = mathbb{A}(R)backslash {(0)}$. The annihilating-ideal graph of $R$, denoted by $mathbb{AG}(R)$ is an undirected simple graph whose vertex set is $mathbb{A}(R...
متن کاملOn the Szeged and Eccentric connectivity indices of non-commutative graph of finite groups
Let $G$ be a non-abelian group. The non-commuting graph $Gamma_G$ of $G$ is defined as the graph whose vertex set is the non-central elements of $G$ and two vertices are joined if and only if they do not commute. In this paper we study some properties of $Gamma_G$ and introduce $n$-regular $AC$-groups. Also we then obtain a formula for Szeged index of $Gamma_G$ in terms of $n$, $|Z(G)|$ and $|G|...

A subset S of {0, 1, . . . , 2t − 1}n is called a t-fold MDS code if every line in each of n base directions contains exactly t elements of S. The adjacency graph of a t-fold MDS code is not connected if and only if the characteristic function of the code is the repetition-free sum of the characteristic functions of t-fold MDS codes of smaller lengths. In the case t = 2, the theory has the foll...
